A new rival for the Lexus GS 450h is going on sale just days before its first public outing in Frankfurt
Infiniti is leaving no stone unturned in the quest for alternative-energy options; the company's M series range being a case in point.
The conventional M37 powered by a petrol V6 and the M30d (diesel V6) are now to be joined by a new hybrid variant, the M35h. Little is known about the new model, but Infiniti has revealed in press information that it will develop 268kW of power, but produce just 162g/km of CO2 emissions.
According to the manufacturer, the price for the M35h — in Europe at least — will be only marginally higher than the price of the diesel M30d. The addition of the M35h to the range offers Infiniti buyers unparalleled choice in this executive class, populated by Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Benz E-Class and, of course, the newly-released Lexus GS, itself scheduled to spawn a new hybrid variant at the Frankfurt show.
Based on what we've been told by Nissan management here in the past, we can expect to see the M35h — provided it's engineered for right-hand drive — along with the rest of the Infiniti range in local showrooms, come the third quarter of next year.
